My name is Christel. I am a believer in Christ Jesus. I am 28 years old, and I have been living in Kaohsiung, Taiwan since July 2009. I have a B.A. in English and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language from Asbury College (now Asbury University). I love literature and writing. I am an ELL (English Language Learning) and 7th grade Bible teacher at an international Christian school called Morrison Christian Academy. I love my job, and God has called me to missions. I have a sister who also teaches at Morrison, and our youngest sister lives here in Taiwan as well. All three of us are involved in an unwed moms and orphan ministry called His Hands Taiwan (where my youngest sister serves full-time), so that takes up a lot of free time. When I’m not busy working or out fumbling my way around with Mandarin Chinese, Emi (my Maltese dog), Skype conversations with friends and family, and good books keep me occupied at home. Life is good!

Welcome to High Calling Blogs! I think it’s so cool that you’re serving overseas. I spent several years as a missionary and look forward to reading your blog in the days to come.

Hey Angela,
Sure! Add away. Sorry I didn’t respond to this sooner–it was sent to my spam filter so I didn’t see it until now. Blessings as you adopt.
Christel
I too am heeding the call to a life of missions. I will be praying over you!
That’s great! Where are you (or will you) be serving?
I am in Arkansas wanting to go to the Pemba (Tanzania)
Cool. What draws you to that place?
